Dublin Maker is a free to attend, family friendly and community driven event which takes the form of a “show and tell” experience where inventors and makers, sourced through an open call, will have an opportunity to showcase their creations at individual booths in a carnival atmosphere. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
Be a part of Dublin Maker 2015 – call for submissions
There is still time left to submit a project for the Dublin Maker event which will be an opportunity for makers to interact with each other, to share ideas, and to show examples of their work, projects, crafts, inventions, products and hacks in a vibrant fair-style event. We encourage you to join the fun and enter a project to exhibit.
Remember – your project doesn’t need to be finished, and it definitely doesn’t need to be for sale. We want you to share how you make, so in-progress, hobbyist projects are A-OK!
The first step to participating in Dublin Maker is to submit an entry that tells us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals as well as from groups, such as hobbyist clubs and schools. Please provide a short description of what you make and what you would like to bring to Dublin Maker, including links to photographs and/or videos of your project. We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things.
Further details on the types of projects that will be shared at the event and details of the Maker Entry Categories, as well as the online application form, can be found by clicking here.
Deadline for submissions is May 25th.
More about Dublin Maker 2015
The festival event itself is a culmination of ‘hack, craft and make’ activities, which begin with the launch of the open call in March 2015 and build up throughout the year until the main festival event in July 2015.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, artists, science clubs, students, authors, and commercial exhibitors. They are of all ages and backgrounds, coming from all over Ireland and beyond. Maker Ireland’s mission is to entertain, inform and connect the makers of Ireland, while inspiring the next generation of Ireland’s makers and inventors.
This year Dublin Maker will again happen during the Festival of Curiosity, Dublin’s outstanding Science festival. We are delighted to be partnering up with our Curious friends this year again and to be helping to make a truly unforgettable weekend full of science, creativity and curiosity.
