National Engineers Week takes place this year from March 2nd – 8th. The week-long festival of nationwide events, of which Intel is a proud supporter, celebrates the world of engineering. To coincide with Engineers Week, Intel Ireland will this week share our #IAMANENGINEER campaign which captures the diverse and dynamic world of engineering through the eyes of a number of different Intel engineers. First in the series is Computer Scientist and Software Engineer Tzirath Perez who speaks about her role at Intel.
I am a Software Engineering intern in the Intel Movidius team as part of my 6-month work placement. Movidius is at the forefront of enabling new levels of intelligence for devices by delivering low-power, high-performance products in the area of computer vision. In my role I will be focusing specifically on testing and specification. My role involves making sure the software does what it should be doing. I enjoy working here because it helps me get out of my comfort zone, and I am constantly learning new things. The work environment is teamwork driven, which encourages me to do my best every day.
I first found my passion for engineering back in High School (Secondary school) where I took numerous modules on general engineering. When it came to coding a self-made robot, I knew engineering could have a big impact on the world!
