Intel appoints 3 new Irish Vice Presidents

Intel has announced the promotion of 3 Irish people to the role of Vice President of Intel Corporation. The 3 people appointed are Noel Murphy, General Manager, PEG IOT and Wearable Group, who becomes a Vice President of the Platform Engineering Group, Paul Scully, Human Resources Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa Region, who becomes Vice President of Human Resources and John Healy, General Manager, Datacenter Network Solutions Group who becomes Vice President of the Data Center Group.

Noel Murphy noel-murphy

Noel has led multiple design teams focused on bringing leading technology products to market. His teams have delivered industry leading software and solutions in computing, memory storage and networking. In 2011, Noel started the Intel Quark product line leading the Galileo (2013) and Curie (2015) platform launches with responsibility across architecture, silicon and software. These products went on to be highlighted by Intel at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Noel joined Intel in 2000 to setup and lead System On Chip Design in Shannon, working on multiple generations of communication focused processors including leading the IXP2300 development. He was promoted to the role Principal Engineer in 2007. Prior to Intel, Noel worked in design for multiple high technology areas including comms and motor control for Parthus, Tellabs and Digital.

Noel is originally from Cork. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from University College Cork and a Masters Degree in Engineering from University of Limerick. He lives in Clarinbridge, Co. Galway with his wife and 3 children.

Since 2009, Paul has led and is responsible for all facets of Intel HR for the Greater European Region and the 300 HR employees that serve approximately 23,000 employees across 26 countries. Paul devises and delivers HR strategies and directs teams that consult with Intel businesses and support to serve employees and managers in the region.

Paul started his career in Northern Telecom; Finance & Mfg. He joined Intel in 1990 to start up the Ireland Manufacturing & Operations (ESSM). Paul was Manufacturing Manager in the OPSD, Systems & Assembly Test organisations for 11 years. He moved to HR in 2001.

Paul holds a Dip. Mgt, MBA with OUBS, is a Fellow with the Chartered Management Institute CMI, and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development CIPD.

Paul hails from Galway City and attended St Josephs (Bish) Secondary school. Paul is married to Mary and has three children Jerimiah, Maitiu and Rebecca. He currently lives in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

John Healyjohn-healy
John is responsible for delivering solutions for the Intel global strategy to transform all networks through Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) within Communication Service Provider, Enterprise and Cloud Service Provider networks.

John joined Intel in 2001, and his leadership in the communications industry consists of 26 years of experience in planning, engineering, deploying and maintaining next generation communication networks. John is a regular industry speaker analyzing the transformation of all networks in their adoption of SDN and NFV.

John is an electronic engineering graduate from the University of Limerick.

Irish Vice Presidents at Intel

This brings to eleven the number of Irish people who now hold Vice President positions in the company. Cork born Ann Kelleher is Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Technology and Manufacturing Group. Eamonn Sinnott, General Manger of Intel Ireland, Joe McDonnell, Fab 22 Plant Manager, who is based in Arizona, and Ann-Marie Holmes, Fab 24 Factory Manager; are all Vice Presidents of Intel’s Technology and Manufacturing Group. Rory McInerney, based at Intel’s headquarters in Santa Clara, was this year promoted to the role of Corporate Vice President and is the General Manager of the Scalable Performance CPU Development Group. U.S. based Margaret Burgraff is Vice President of the Software and Services Group, Paul Walsh is Vice President for Engineering Services and Cork site leader in the Intel Security Group and Kevin O’Dwyer is Vice President for Inside Sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in the Intel Security Group.
