Intel appoints new Ireland based Vice President

Neil Philip named as Vice President in the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations group

Intel has announced the promotion of Ireland based Neil Philip to the role of Vice President of Intel Corporation. Neil, who is a Fab 24 Factory Manager at Intel, has become Vice President in the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations group.

Based in Ireland, Neil leads operations of Intel’s Fab 24 manufacturing facility in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. Fab 24 first came into operation in 2004, and has gone on to become a key production location for Intel’s 14nm products, ensuring that leading-edge silicon microprocessors, manufactured in Ireland, are at the heart of technology innovations.

Neil is a safety program lead in the global manufacturing organisation and has been a key member of the manufacturing team in Ireland since fab operations first came to the country in the early 1990’s. He joined Intel in 1991 after 3 years in the industry with Motorola. He began his Intel career on assignment in the D2 technology development centre in California and went on to complete numerous U.S. based assignments. Neil demonstrates deep technical expertise, leadership and contributions across a wide range of roles in engineering, operations and business.

Neil is a proud native of Aberdeen, Scotland but has lived in Ireland for 28 years. He studied engineering at the University of Edinburgh and has also completed an MBA. Neil is passionate about the value that science/engineering/manufacturing brings to our society.

Neil is married to Sligo woman Ettie for 25 years and has 2 children – Alastair who is studying engineering and Ciara, a music student. Neil is an outdoor enthusiast and loves cycling with his local club in Dunshaughlin County Meath, walking, falling off a surfboard, supporting Alastair’s soccer team and Ciara’s camogie team, and the odd game of golf.

 

Irish Vice Presidents at Intel
This brings to nine the number of Irish, or Ireland based, people who now hold Vice President positions in the company. Cork born Dr. Ann B. Kelleher was recently named as Executive Vice President and is the general manager of Technology Development at Intel. Eamonn Sinnott, General Manager of Intel Ireland, Joe McDonnell, Manager of Strategic Planning and Intel Module Repair, who is based in Arizona, and Ann-Marie Holmes, Co-General Manager of Intel Worldwide Semiconductor Manufacturing; are all Vice Presidents of Intel’s Manufacturing and Operations organisation. Dermot Hargaden, who is based in Co. Cork, is General Manager of the Sales and Field Applications Engineering group and Vice President, Sales and Marketing Group.

Paul Scully is the a Vice President in the Human Resources organisation where he is the Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa Region and John Healy is the General Manager, Platform Management and Customer Engineering and Vice President, Internet of Things Group. Rory O’Connor, who is the Director of Global Logistics at Intel, is a Vice President in the Global Supply Chain organisation.
