Friday April 13th, 26 employees from various departments within Intel Ireland took to the stage for Intel’s first ever “Lip Sync Battle,” the latest in a series of fundraising activities in support of Intel’s 2018 signature charities The Alzheimer Society and Make-a-Wish Ireland.
Confey GAA Club in Leixlip were generous hosts of the event and in front of a packed audience each of the 10 acts performed before Katherine Lynch, Fiona Brennan Fennelly, and Morgan C Jones provided their expert observations as judges of the event, which was hosted by Broadcaster Ollie Turner.
The event itself was modelled on the format of UK TV series “Lip Sync Battle.” All of the performers on the night were volunteers and had undergone weeks of dance training and rehearsals which all counts as volunteer hours for the signature charities. The volunteers raised even more money for the charities through sponsorship and ticket sales.
The event provided participating employees with a great opportunity to get involved in a high class professional production. For some, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to train and practice and achieve a Big Stage Dance Routine.
The night was an overwhelming success with lots of money being raised for the The Alzheimer Society and Make-a-Wish Ireland. This will be combined with monies raised through other events with the total overall fundraising amount being revealed at the end of the year.
The prestigious title “Lip Sync Champion,” was won by Brendan O’Donohoe and Alan Moghal who performed combination of Frozen songs that truly wowed the crowd.
