To centralise community efforts and give back to organisations making a positive impact to the lives of others. Every year, Intel Ireland selects two signature charities providing volunteer time and funds to the chosen organisations. For 2018, Intel Ireland selected ‘Make a wish Ireland’ and ‘The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland’
Throughout the year, Intel Ireland employees provided the chosen organisations with support, mentorship, volunteer time and donations. All of which was a huge success attributed to the variety of events and activities that employees took part in.
This year Intel Ireland employees volunteered over 2,000 hours with approximately 400 employees taking part in our charitable events. In addition to the valuable volunteer time Intel donated, each charity also received just over €29,000 from the years past events. This money will be used to support the important work that the charities do, making a positive impact to lives that need it the most.
Intel Ireland hosted a multitude of volunteering events this year, including the annual Charity Cycle, Lip Sync Battle, Colour Run, bake sales, pack events and a charity raffle. These events brought our employees together with laughter and fun but also encouraged the Leixlip site to make a dedicated effort to help the two charities.
n December 11th 2018, the monies raised were presented to both charities at the Cheque Handover event at the Intel Ireland campus in Leixlip. The event was attended by representatives from both organisations, employee ambassadors and multiple employees who took part in the volunteer events.
External Relations Manager for Intel Ireland, Lisa Harlow, added, “We are delighted with how our employees came together and supported our two site charities. Through getting on their bikes to making their stage debut at the Lip Sync Battle. I hope that our efforts will make a positive impact on the wonderful work that is being done by the organisations and I look forward to maintaining the relationship forged with the charities throughout the past year”
