Last week the NISO (National Irish Safety Organisation) Occupational Safety Awards event took place on Friday 2nd of October in Galway and Intel scooped two of the prestigious prizes on the night.
Intel received a Category 1 Major Award for ‘Information Technology and Computer Services’ business category and the 1272 tool install construction team also received a distinction award.
The first award was in recognition of an effective and successful Health and Safety Management System which demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement and best in class performance. Intel’s Health and Safety programme structure, Ergonomic, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental and OH innovative initiatives were included as part of the submission.
The second award was a distinction award received by the 1272 tool install construction team which was in recognition of the strong safety leadership demonstrated by the project team and a recognition of the tool install projects workplace health and safety excellence at a national level. The tool install construction project has completed over 7.5 million man-hours to date and has delivered a best in class safety performance for Intel construction.
