The Irish HR Champion Awards celebrate the hard work and dedication of HR teams delivering ambitious programmes, impacting business performance and transforming employee experience. The Awards recognise, in a number of different categories, the success, innovation and business focus of HR teams in delivering the best strategies.
This year the Irish HR Champion Awards were presented via an online celebration which was held on June 11th.
Intel Ireland was shortlisted in a number of award categories at this year’s event including Best Talent Acquisition Programme and Best Employer Branding Programme.
Intel went on to win the Champion On-Boarding Strategy Award having been recognised by the judges for adopting a comprehensive approach to engaging graduate hires in the post offer and pre on-boarding stage.
With the nature of graduate recruitment, there tends to be a long lead time between when a graduate accepts an offer with Intel and when they join the company, typically ranging anything from 6 to 12 months.
In this time Intel endeavors to help the graduate hires become familiar with the company and prepare them for their future career. Intel have developed an engagement campaign as part of the employee on-boarding experience which consists of monthly e-newsletters keeping hires up to date with happenings at Intel, a live webinar series designed to give them an insight into life at Intel and what to expect upon joining, end of semester and seasonal gifts of encouragement, and check-in calls along the way.
Intel also empowered a cohort of Employee Brand Ambassadors to tell their story as part of our online campaign, at graduate events and during the live webinars.
The Champion On-Boarding award was presented by Managing Director at CXC Global, Conor Heaney and was accepted on the night by members of Intel’s Talent Acquisition team.
Speaking about Intel’s award, Andy Kerr, Associate Partner, EY and chair of the award judging panel said; “This year, one organisation stood out for their innovative approach to Graduate recruitment. They moved from promoting the message that “Amazing Works Here” to reintroducing their organisation as an employer of choice to graduates, researching how to go beyond brand awareness and reshaping graduate perception.
We would like to commend and congratulate Intel as recipients of the Award – Champion On-boarding Strategy. They involved leadership from the time the graduates joined the organisation and recognised the power of their own people as brand ambassadors on the ground in the first months of employment – they massively exceeded their recruitment targets and significantly reduced churn among new recruits in the first year”.
