On Thursday April 19th, the Green Awards 2012 took place in Dublin’s Burlington Hotel before an audience of Ireland’s green business professionals, with Risteard Cooper, of RTÉ’s Apres Match, presiding over the glittering awards ceremony.
The awards venue was packed with nearly 600 representatives from all over Ireland present to applaud over 100 finalists across 22 categories as the prestigious trophies were handed out to loud cheers from winners and their guests. Beaten finalists were rewarded with a special parchment to mark their success in reaching the finals.

Intel were finalists in 2 categories with 2 entries shortlisted under ‘The Green Corporate Citizen Award’ and for ‘The Green Large Manufacturer Award’. Intel was delighted on the evening to beat off stiff competition and win the prestigious title of The Green Large Manufacturer Award.
The Green Large Manufacturer Award recognises an organisation of +500 employees that can demonstrate a ground-up best environmental practice in all aspects of running a large manufacturing business.
Lisa Harlow, Intel Ireland’s External Relations Manager was delighted with the win, “We are very proud to be honoured with this prestigious award which is a testament to the continued commitment of Intel Ireland employees to corporate social responsibility practices. As a company, we are committed to doing the right things the right way. We are involved on an on-going basis in programmes to increase environmental sustainability”.
The awards attracted over 150 entries, with judges commenting on the overall high standards which made choosing the eventual winners all the more difficult.
