Each year Intel Ireland selects two signature charities in order to give employees the opportunity to dedicate their efforts towards providing volunteer time and funds, raised through specially organised activities, to these chosen organisations.

For 2012, MS Ireland and Pieta House, were selected and employees have been taking part in numerous events during the year to date to raise funds and generate awareness in support of the two selected causes.

Most recently employees have been busy supporting a series of events over the summer months which gave them the opportunity to get involved in a diversity of different activities. The six different events taking place over the summer have helped to raise thousands of euros towards the overall fundraising amount which will be revealed at the end of the year.

The recent events spanned a wide array of interests and included something for the outdoor adventurers as employees participated in a golfing classic, a canal walk challenge and a campus fun run. For those not wanting to brave the elements there was still plenty of fun to be had with cakes sales, shave or wax challenge and even a visit from the Sam Maguire cup for employee photo opportunities.

There are still plenty of challenges in store for employees as the charity campaign continues towards the end of the year with the next event, the annual Intel Charity Cycle, taking place on September 7th. The cycle event will see employees take to the road to complete routes of 40km, 80km or 160km culminating at the Hill of Tara.

The monies raised for the two chosen charities will be presented to them at the end of the year.
