
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8TH – Intel Ireland has announced that the Intel Mini Scientist will return this year with a revised format!
The Intel Mini Scientist is a science competition for primary school students in 4th, 5th and 6th class and is open to all schools across Ireland.
Taking part in the Intel Mini Scientist involves creating a science and / or technology project which can be based on the Primary Science Curriculum or any area which is of interest to the participating students.
Intel Mini Scientist 2021
This year, students will be invited to create science projects, either as an individual or in a team of up to 4 members, with the project being presented in the form of a workbook. Each school that participates will select a winning project to go forward to a virtual judging process. The selected projects will be reviewed by a panel of judges, which will include Intel employees, and a number of winners will be selected. The winning projects will be invited to participate in a virtual awards ceremony later this year where the overall grand prize will be awarded.
The Prizes
There are a number of fantastic prizes available to participating schools:
- Every school taking part receives a special commemorative plaque.
- Every student taking part a certificate of participation .
- There is a €1000 monetary grant for the school which has the overall Grand final winning project.
Key Dates
- June 2021 Registration opens
- 24th September 2021 Registration closes
- 27th September – 29th October 2021 Students create their projects and each school selects their winning project
- 1st – 8th November 2021 Schools submit their winning project to Intel
- November 2021 Intel judging takes place
- Early December 2021 Winners are announced at a virtual awards ceremony
