In 2019 Intel began work on one of the largest construction projects in Europe at its campus in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.
The project, on which more than $7 billion has already been spent, will double Intel’s manufacturing space in Ireland and pave the way for the production of Intel’s 7nm process technology.
Construction by the Numbers
Ever wondered how much steel reinforcement is needed for a project like this? About 75,000 tonnes – which is twice as much as was used in the Burj Khalifa Project in Dubai, the tallest building in the world!
This is just one of the key statistics of the project to date – check out some more of them in the video shown below which is available on YouTube.
