Deeply embedded in the Intel culture is a passion for community involvement and for volunteering in both the communities where we work and where we live. Intel Ireland employees have a long tradition of community engagement and 2013 was no different to previous years with over 50,000 volunteer hours being recorded by Ireland employees.

The involvement of our employees in their local communities has made a huge impact on local organisations, clubs and schools. From planting trees in nearby schools to participating in the annual charity cycle, the list is endless._L5Q6323.jpg

In 2013 we also supported two site signature charities, ISPCC and Irish Hospices and all funds raised from our site wide events, which amounted to over €62,000, were distributed amongst the two charities. Some of the events that employees got involved in during 2013 to support our signature charities included hosting Ireland’s Largest Coffee Morning, a Cake Sale, Fun Run, Annual Charity Cycle and Pool Competition to name but a few.

In total during 2013 Intel employees volunteered a remarkable 50,304 with 57% of our employee population volunteering at least once during the year.

A large number of the hours volunteered by employees during 2013 are eligible to be matched through the Intel Matching Grants Program whereby $10 is donated for every one hour of volunteer time recorded at a registered non profit organisation or school.

The Matching Grants Program aims to recognise and motivate Intel employees to engage in outreach and volunteerism to make our communities a better place.

Intel Ireland also announced recently that our Signature Charities for 2014 will be the Jack and Jill Foundation and Irish Autism Action.
