Painted with Pride

Intel sponsors street mural to coincide with 2019 pride celebrations

The street mural, on Camden Row, captures the 2000 year old relationship between Roman Emperor Hadrian and Antinous

Every year, during the month of June, the LGBT+ community celebrates in a variety of ways and Intel is proud to support the celebrations with a number of different events happenings at our sites around the world, including Ireland.

This year, to coincide with the Pride celebrations, we are excited to share that Intel has sponsored a specially commissioned piece of street art that can be found on Camden Row, in central Dublin.

The mural, which was painted by SUBSET – who are a collective of artists and designers – represents the 2000 year old relationship between Roman Emperor Hadrian and Greek servant Antinous.

The love affair between the Emperor Hadrian and Antinous is a tragic romance that had inspired the final great creative period of classical art and many artistic works that came thereafter. Hadrian was devastated after the unexpected death of Antinous, who drowned in the River Nile, and publicly commemorated him in many ways, including building a new city in his name.

Intel is proud to support SUBSET in their artistic endeavors that bring diverse topics to life, such as the pride mural, which captures the spirit of love, joy and acceptance.
